The fourth collaboration is with "Matsu no Tsukasa" ✨ A limited edition "Junmai Ginjo Nigori Sake" specially brewed for the Onigiri Burger will be released!

Since the opening of its flagship store at Kansai International Airport in December 2023, OnigiriBurger has been challenging itself with collaborations with companies that provide delicious ingredients from all over Japan, such as the famous Niku no Takumi "Miyoshi" restaurant in Gion, Kyoto, Samurai Oysters from Banshu Ako and Sakae, and Yasutomi Farm in Okayama Prefecture. And this time, as a new initiative, a collaboration with Matsu no Tsukasa, a sake brewery in Ryuo Town, Shiga Prefecture, has been realized in the area of alcohol.

"Matsu no Tsukasa" Matsuse Sake Brewery, Shiga Prefecture

Matsuse Sake Brewery in Shiga Prefecture, whose signature brand is "Matsu no Tsukasa," is an environmentally conscious brewery that was founded in 1860 and boasts over 160 years of history. They are particular about not only the rice, which is essential for sake brewing, but also the water they use, using clear water pumped from 120 meters underground at the brewery. Making use of their many years of experience, they fuse traditional techniques with modern technology to create a one-of-a-kind flavor.

The collaboration product, OnigiriBurger's original "Matsuno Tsukasa Junmai Ginjo Nigori Sake", is a specially brewed product just for the Onigiri Burger, pursuing the flavor of rice and seaweed that "Onigiri Burger" values, and harmony with the ingredients. Please enjoy the exquisite pairing and harmony.

Collaboration Background

Chinese New Year Japanese Fukuju Set - Salmon Roe and Pure Rice Ginjo Nigori Sake

At OnigiriBurger, we make the most of the flavor and original taste of the ingredients, expressing them in our own unique style while thoroughly pursuing "Japanese deliciousness," providing a memorable dining experience as a "last Japanese meal" for those leaving Japan.

This collaboration was made possible by our deep sympathy with Matsuse Sake Brewery's philosophy of continuing to pursue deliciousness through a variety of initiatives, including their thorough commitment to rice and water, ginjo brewing, kimoto brewing, and pesticide-free cultivation.

The theme of this collaboration, OnigiriBurger's original "Matsunotsukasa Junmai Ginjo Nigori Sake," is "nigori sake" that can be enjoyed with meals.

The soft rice aroma unique to "Nigori Sake" is complemented by a fresh pear-like aroma. If you were to drink it on its own, a strong sweetness or sourness would be more catchy, but this sake is deliberately subdued. It is a sake with a flavor that brings out the natural sweetness and umami of the rice, so it goes great with fatty fish and meat, and of course with seaweed.
